The Union Millers of Ukraine Publishes Detailed Findings of Research on Ukrainian Wheat Grain and Flour Quality

The Union Millers of Ukraine has made publicly available the detailed findings of a comprehensive research on the quality and safety of Ukrainian wheat grain and wheat flour. Conducted over several years, the study confirmed consistently high quality parameters for Ukrainian wheat and flour, while laboratory testing demonstrated a high level of product safety.

The findings are based on an extensive dataset comprising 14,000 wheat grain samples collected between 2020 and 2025 and 200 wheat flour samples from 2022 to 2025. The scale of the sample provides a robust basis for assessing the characteristics of Ukrainian wheat and flour using systematic, multi-year data rather than isolated test results.

The reserch is particularly relevant to international markets. It provides importers and buyers with objective data on the quality and safety of Ukrainian wheat and flour, while giving Ukrainian producers and exporters a solid evidence base to support their engagement with international partners.

The reserch was conducted with the support of the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO), initiated by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) as part of Switzerland’s economic development cooperation. The project was carried out by the Union “Millers of Ukraine”, Odesa National University of Technology, SGS Ukraine, and Agmintest Control Union. The authors of the study are Rodion Rybchynskyi, PhD in Engineering; Prof. Dmytro Zhygunov; Oleh Onishchenko, MSc; and Iryna Toporash, PhD in Engineering.
