KazGrain-2018 to represent the thematic session for millers

On March 16, within the framework of the conference "KazGrain 2018" (Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan), the Union “Millers of Ukraine” together with the Union of Grain Processors of Kazakhstan and with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will hold a specialized thematic session "The grain and grain processing market in Kazakhstan: cooperation with the Central-Asian region.

The session is held within the framework of the project "Mechanism for support of the multilateral programs of FAO on development of trade potential in Eastern Europe and Central Asia" financed by FAO. The Union “Millers of Ukraine” has been its active participant. During the specialized session, participants will discuss global grain market trends in 2017/18 MY and, in particular, medium- and long-term prospects for the grain and flour market of the Central-Asian region.

Given the country's geographical location and logistics features, the main importers of Kazakhstan wheat and flour are traditionally the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan. But in the past three seasons, China has become a significant player in the region, which lead to increase of Kazakh flour purchases in 11.5 times.
